SatStream, specialist webcasting company, today announced that it is providing a live 24 hours stream to francophone channel, Montagne TV.
Montagne TV is a France-based channel dedicated to broadcasting every facet of mountain life, from daily life for those who live there to sporting activities.
SatStream is providing the live stream using ChannelStream, which the company launched at IBC last year. The feed is taken from Montagne TV in France and transcoded into multiple Web formats at SatStream’s specialist facility in the heart of London, then streamed live via SatStream’s Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) to Montagne TV’s dedicated website, www.montagnetv.com
Thanks to Channel Stream’s use of optimised satellite capture combined with quality streaming technology, viewers of Montagne TV across the globe are able to enjoy a seamless viewing experience, without buffering.
“We are delighted to be working with Montagne TV to provide a live 24/7 stream of its dedicated channel,” commented Craig Moehl, CEO, SatStream. “Mountain life and sports are fascinating to a large number of people for various different reasons, and pastimes, and bringing the channel beyond traditional broadcast will open it up to a much wider global audience.”
“As a niche channel, we are always looking for new ways to reach wider, more global audiences, whilst at the same time maintaining high quality delivery,” commented Philippe Santini, Montagne TV. “We have been very pleased with the service provided by SatStream. Their high regard for quality and attention to detail is second to none.”
ChannelStream also supports delivery to popular mobile devices, such as Windows, Android and Symbian-based mobile phones and the iPhone / iPad.
SatStream will be exhibiting on the Groovy Gecko stand at Broadcast Video Expo (B09) from 15th to 17th February.
